Located in NW Portland's Alphabet District is the Parish of Saint Mark. Unlike its distant Catholic counterpart, it's located in a very busy sector of the Alphabet District. The church is along NW 21st Ave and is near 2 streetcar lines, a few bus stops, and an ever-busy hospital. This was taken while I was running an errand in this area. I decided to stop by here and take some photos. This pic shows some of the courtyard that's inside the church precincts and the statue of the Crucified Christ. I didn't try to go in as the gates were closed and the bells started tolling for mass. This church is one of several historic sites in this area of Portland. According to the Oregon Historic Sites Database, it's part of the Alphabet Historic District. It was also listed in the Historic Resource Inventory done by the City of Portland and remains a recognized historic landmark.
