Cypress Roots
This image shows a tangled and twisted set of roots from an ancient bald cypress tree along the banks of the Frio River in south Texas. I am constantly amazed by the persistence and power of cypress roots, which somehow find a way into the small cracks of the rocky terrain they call home.
