My dad smokes a cigar almost every night after dinner. He enjoys sitting outside alone, in the peace and quiet, no matter the weather. I love this portrait of my dad because anyone who knows him, knows that it perfectly encapsulates him by the tilt of his head, the under bite in his jaw, and the shape of his fingers holding the cigar. My dad said I take photos of everyone else and not him, so this registered as the perfect opportunity to capture his most natural portrait.
