Dancing on the water

In the heat of August, Flying foxes cannot control their body heat, so to avoid heat stroke, they jump on water in the afternoon and evening, wet their bodies, and drink water. Flying foxes in Bangladesh are at risk of heatstroke, and mass deaths due to extreme heatstroke have been documented. This problem has been exacerbated by climate change, rising temperatures, and widespread habitat destruction. Flying foxes are large bats, also known as fruit bats, that belong to the genus Pteropus. They are found in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia.
