Darjeeling Himalayan Railway

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) is over 100 years (built in 1881) old and runs between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling in a 610 mm (2 ft) gauge railway and is also an UNESCO World Heritage site. It still operates with some of the old steam locomotives which are also over 100 years old. Joy rides run between Darjeeling and Ghum which are very popular with the tourists.This image was taken in Darjeeling Station where one worker is busy preparing the engines for the day.
