Dawn in French River Provincial Park, in the world's largest fresh water archipelago, known as the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay. This rocky island is part of the Canadian Shield, made of Precambrian granite and igneous rock dating as far back as 3 billion years. A testament to the force of ancient glaciers that cut through the face of the earth creating lakes hundreds of feet deep, and islands of shimmering white and pink quartz. From here the wind blows down from the arctic in late summer laced with the chill of icebergs of the north. The west wind storms across open water, permanently bending trees under its force. From the south and east gentler breezes carry the wisdom of the ancients, a sense of spiritual cleansing bringing messages of mysteries unknown, people unseen. At dawn there is stillness; a quiet solitude and passionate awakening- a totality of the energies that make this place whole.
