Day 1 hiking The Grand Canyon rim to rim
Last year, I backpacked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon—34 miles. We had a late start on the first day. The sunset began before reaching our camp. We spent hours hiking down switchbacks in the dark, navigating with our headlamps.
