16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Defaced: Television Absorption
A play on the term "defaced," peoples faces were removed from photos. I tried to capture people doing mundane tasks, which I deemed to be "faceless" tasks because the might be mindless or demand low attention. The photos were later "refaced." This project was inspired by Hank Willis Thomas' "Unbranded" photographic works.
