19th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Mobile
Defeated Tree
We were observing the erosion of the California coastline on our weekly beach walks all year round. The tree was defeated by climate change. Erosion of land, due to rising sea levels and much stronger storms, has vanquished the tree after many years of battle.
