Democracy Dies in Darkness

Three months after that dark day on January 6, I captured this photo of the building after getting off shift one night. Our units had just been notified that our duty at the Capitol would be extended through May. For me, the service and dedication of law enforcement shines through as the light in this photo. We never lost sight or the site of the temple of our democracy.
