14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Determination
"Determination" was taken during a snowy January in the Canadian Rockies. The tiny tree stood alone, surrounded by enormous mounds of heavy snow. This scene captured my imagination and reminded me that determination is often more important than strength alone.
