The man in the center of the image is a dedicated devotee of this religious occasion, the Annakut, rice offering to the deity Madanmohan, alternative form of Lord Krishna. The man is not begging for alms, he is begging for a fistful of the holy rice, distributed to devotees by throwing from the window of the temple.
