Ms Ambia, 50, from Dhaka, Bangladesh, lived with an obstetric fistula for 25 years. Fistula is a serious and crushing childbirth injury that causes incontinence, shame and isolation. Yet with UN support, she finally had surgery to fix it, and is now rebuilding her life, and rekindling hope and dignity.
