This photo was taken whilst undertaking research on Humpbacks that migrate annually to the Antarctic Peninsula and how they are adapting to a warmer, noisier ocean. The light on this calm overcast morning was unusually crisp, resulting in the beautiful clarity of this image, which clearly shows the whale's baleen.
