My Grandfather was the Sheriff of this WVA county. As such, he lived in the downstairs of the county jail, next to the Courthouse. As children, we roamed the grounds of the Courthouse, rolling down the slopes, playing, reading our relatives names on the War Memorial. As an adult, I can appreciate the architecture, spirit and pride in this fine historical building.
