All photographs are taken on a special Monday that is called Kathara Deftera_Clean Monday is the most accurate translation. It is a religious festivity forty days before Easter and it is the beginning of fasting until the day of Pascha (that goes for the Greek Orthodox Cristian church) . It is a custom to fly a kite that day and the photos give an idea of the preparations. We see kids and their parents getting ready and actually flying the kite, but we also see people walking on a rather gloomy day!
