Dr Isioma Okolo

In November 2018, I went to Uganda to document the international maternal health project that my wife Dr Isioma Okolo had been working on. Sent on behalf of The Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Okolo worked between different rural maternity units, teaching and testing the staff in areas such as emergency obstetrics and baby resuscitation. The large bag She is holding is baby Anne, which a baby resuscitation training doll. The people I met during my time there were incredible. Friendly, positive and working tirelessly to help women through pregnancy in often severely under resourced units. Dr Okolo’s hard work has been acknowledged there and She was invited to speak at the House of Lords about her experience.
