Drag March for Change, Chicago
Taken at the Drag March for Change in Chicago, June 2020. This was a march organized by drag performers in the wake of the George Floyd shooting, aiming to call attention to the disproportionately high rate of violence against trans women of color. After marching through Chicago's Boystown neighborhood, members of the drag community spoke about their own experiences with violence, as well as the racial discrimination they regularly faced within the LGBTQ and drag communities, and called for bar owners and event promoters in particular to be more inclusive.
