20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Dramatic light in Alpe di Siusi
The photo was taken in Alpe Di Siusi, Dolomites. As our hotel was located outside the nature park, it took us almost an hour to walk to this point. I was not thrilled as it was raining almost all the way, visibility was poor and the sky was grayish. At one point, a miracle happened, the sky opened and the sun appeared between the clouds.
