Drawing a veteran from the right side of the brain
Calling all artists! Have you heard of "drawing from the right side of the brain?" Drawing what you see is surprisingly easier when you concentrate on the lines and proportions of each feature upside-down. If everything was right-side up, you might start to draw the way you think something should look (from memory) rather than how they really look in this portrait. Once you draw it all upside-down, when you're done you just flip it right-side up... and voila -- you'll see a Norman Rockwell like drawing of one of America's favorite activities: a veteran's well-deserved afternoon nap.
