Dreams of Ellis Island

This was the place new immigrants would be inspected and often times have to medically quarantine before entering the US via New York. 12 million immigrants were processed there until 1954. After lengthy and treacherous trips across the Atlantic, this was the final hurdle before new fortunes would await. A place of hope and a place of despair for those who were detained and deported.
