16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
dressed up naked

This image focuses on the reflection of a young person’s identity in the hues, seams and folds of the garments on their body. The connection between attire and entity is reinforced by the idea that the clothes are an extension of the self, albeit a very material one, and serve as a second skin. 'dressed up naked' communicates this unity - if we are what we wear, perhaps then we really aren’t wearing anything at all.
