After climbing 3500 ft. up the St. Arnaud Range in New Zealand’s Nelson Lakes National Park, I was sweating profusely despite it being only 50℉ (10℃). I took off the last remaining, thoroughly soaked top layer I was wearing and hung it to dry in the cool mountain wind on the sign marking the St. Arnaud Track.
