Historically known as Ragusa, Dubrovnik is a city facing the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. In 1979, the old city of Dubrovnik was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in recognition of its outstanding medieval architecture and fortified old town.
