Dumbbell Nebula
This image, taken from a Celestron C-14 telescope, shows the Dumbbell Nebula (M27), shows a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula. This interstellar formation is about 1,360 light years away from the Earth and was the first of its type to be discovered. As the nebula with the highest surface brightness in the sky and the type of object our Sun will produce when its core nuclear fusion halts, M27 can definitely be labeled as a truly amazing object of the cosmos.
