Dunes, Rapids and the Snowy Giants

The Snowy Giants, the Everest and Lhotse, stood in the middle on the horizon. Few know that some 14000 ft high above the Tibetan plateau near the highest peak in the world, there are rich geological features other than snow peaks. This aerial image was taken on the east side of the Everest, showing the intertwining rapids and sand dunes in the wetland area of Dingjie County, Tibet, China.
