Eagle Owl (Bubo zeylonensis) fluffs its skirt, Sri Lanka

Using an infrared light I had been searching for leopards at night in Yala national park, Sri Lanka. We were having little luck when I noticed this eagle owl in a tree. I pointed the IR light at the bird, positioned my IR converted 5D mark II, and waited. Oblivious to my presence it fluffed its feathers, appearing to flash a glimpse of its feathery stockings, before taking flight into the night.
