This mature Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) was gliding in the wind on a gray-white overcast day looking for fish below. In May into July, Alewife (fish in the herring family) "run" from the salt water of the Atlantic Ocean into fresh-water ponds flowing into the ocean, to spawn.
