18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Early morning, steamy August swampscape.
I regularly canoe through the swamps and creeks of the St Johns River Delta and photograph the beauty I find there. Often called a "wasteland" this rich, biodiverse wetland is rapidly being overtaken by urban development.
