Echoes of the woods
Clayoquot Sound is one of the last ancient rainforest on Earth, with trees averaging 600 to 1000 years old. It is home to countless species from black bears and wolves on land to orcas and grey whales at sea. In the 90s it became the stage for Canada's largest act of civil disobedience, the “War in the Woods,” aimed at protecting the wild. Today, logging has resumed for economic reasons.
