I shot this rose in full bloom at a beautiful rose garden in Central New York. I love the pale color and how the petals are softened and a little frayed at the ends. However inside was a tightly held bud that was safely protected perfectly - the perceived imperfections are on the outside, and the rosebud inside ... perfect, unblemished. I feel this image represents the human experience - what we show outside may not reflect the perfection that lies within us all.
