El Matador Cave Sunset, Malibu Beach, California

Malibu Beach is world renowned and known for its luxurious beach homes, volleyball, and bikinis. Just up the coast from Zuma Beach in Malibu, there is a hidden gem: El Matador. I decided to shoot this spot for a weekly photo challenge. When I went there late in the day, it was already crowded and the main cave was covered with Instagram photographers. Someone whispered a suggestion that I go further down the beach where there were many more caves, though a little harder to get to. It was the right move. Here, I could find a cave, climb in, watch the marine layer roll in, and watch the sun set.
