This image was taken at Lake Kel Suu in eastern Kyrgyzstan near the Chinese border.The lake is fed by the Kurumduk river but the outflow is blocked by an old earthquake forming the lake. It only forms if there has been enough snowfall during the winter and therefore the lake bed is dry in some years.
