During Colorado's warm months, I keep a large vegetable garden in my yard, and this year I decided to add leeks to the crop rotation. I was told by a fellow urban gardener to keep an eye out during the hot days and to try to keep the leeks from blossoming, as it would render them inedible. On a hot Spring morning, I spotted this seed pod about to blossom. It's delicate beauty convinced me to plant many leeks, only for their beauty...only to see them blossom.
