Emergence
This is a dragonfly emerging from its nymph state. The nymph lives in water during the larval stage for 2-5 years. Once fully grown they crawl out of the water and the young dragonfly emerges. This photo is capturing the moment the young dragonfly is shedding its exoskeleton.
