Encounters with a spider monkey

Spider monkey, roaming through the canopies of Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica. Of all the monkeys in the region, spider monkeys are the most sensitive to human disruption of their habitat. Luckily, wildlife is well protected in Tortuguero National Park and this female was not at all bothered by my presence. Tortuguero National Park is a remote national park, accessible only by boat or airplane and spider monkey thrive here.
