21st Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Endured
This is a photo of my son, who had turned 8 just a few days earlier, after he had completed an endurance riding course in a competition in 2021. I was hoping to capture the sense of the job done, of being tired, but also of a kid being lucky to do so in the midst of the pandemic.
