Energy forms

Iceland presents itself as a model of energy balance, demonstrating that it is possible to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and embrace renewable energy sources. The combination of geothermal and hydroelectric resources has allowed the island to preserve the environment, reducing CO2 emissions and providing a stable supply of clean and sustainable energy. However, the challenges and concerns that Iceland must address in pursuit of energy balance cannot be overlooked. The sustainability of geothermal resources and the environmental impacts of large hydroelectric dams need to be carefully considered, requiring a thorough assessment of both the environmental and social costs and benefits. The path to complete energy sustainability necessitates an ongoing evaluation of the resources used and their associated impacts. Only through a synergistic approach that diligently considers the environmental, social, and economic aspects will it be possible to ensure a lasting energy balance that respects the ecosystem.
