Entourage

Images of great hammerheads (Sphyrna mokarran) are fairly common, however an image of a great hammerhead with mating scars is almost unheard of with virtually nothing documented before now. This rare treat shows a large female, approximately 4 meters/12ft in total length, covered in mating scars which experts believe are around 4 weeks old. Great hammerheads hold their reproductive secrets close, however with scientists in Bimini studying these sharks I’m hoping we’ll soon have some answers that will lead us to piece together these endangered sharks' top secrets.
