Epic Rain Falls

Monsoon season is the time of year that brings most of the rain to the Southwest, and on this day in September, one-half inch fell on the slick rock along the Colorado Plateau in northern Arizona. Since the rain cannot sink into the rock, it flowed over the edge of the towering cliff walls into the Colorado River creating six waterfalls just below the Glen Canyon Dam.
