My Granny writing to her sister in law an evacuee on Guernseys liberation day May 9th 1945 the first proper contact for 5 years a running detailed description of events unfurling on May 9th 1945. The second letter my son who lives in Guernsey writing to his father who lives in London on May 9th 2020 liberation day in lockdown. A teenagers letter to his Dad it would be 18 months later they were finally reunited.
