15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience
Exi[s]t
Growing up in the city from South Korea, I was the person who loved to walk more than driving or using MTA. I walk down the crowded streets in NYC, and wondered myself how many people in this streets know that I am here. I sometimes feel I am an outcast or overwhelmed when I walk in the middle of NYC. This project started with a simple question, “Do they know that I am exist?” I want to capture my emotion by photographing self-portrait and by using the chair in massively crowed streets in NYC, I want to present my existence as well as my uncertainty with blurred face expression.
