In October 2013 my father was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer, after three years of battling he lost his battle on July 25th, 2016, he was 54 years old. They don’t tell you how hard it is to watch the strongest man you know loose touch with reality, that you’ll be constantly reassuring him that it’s going to be ok even though you know it isn’t, that you have to tell him over and over again that he can’t come home, he has to stay there, and that it will break your heart when you watch him take his last breath while you hold your mothers hand.
