Facing extintion

This Maremmana is a breed of cattle reared in Maremma, the south part of Tuscany; it survives in a semi-feral state throughout the year with only minimal management on land that would otherwise be abandoned. Being endemic of this particular region, reared since Etruscan times, in recent years it has been reaching some critic levels in its numbers since the reclaim of this land and agriculture's mechanisation. Their land can be shared in specific areas, where you're able to walk among them - the females such as this one tend to be docile and not bothered by human presence, at a certain distance.
