FAITH AND POLLUTION

The first day of ChhathPuja, a popular festival of India in the midst of toxic foam. Devotees praying to the sun to mark the festival, while standing amid the toxic foam covering the river’s surface. The hazardous foam occurs due to increased ammonia levels and high phosphate content in the Yamuna river, caused by the discharge of industrial pollutants including detergents into the river.
