Fall of Polar Bears II
From mid October polar bears gather in Wapusk National Park, Canada, the only place in the world with a concentration of these solitary animals in a relatively small territory. This happens because Hudson’s Bay starts first to freeze for the winter along these shores, allowing polar bears to cross the bay and head north. Unfortunately due to global warming every year temperatures are getting higher, postponing the freeze-up and forcing bears to wait longer. This year especially the tundra was still snow-free, and coloured by autumn colors: the landscape, usually covered in a white blanket, was orange and magenta, wetted by heavy rains instead of snowfalls.
