16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Fallen tree in Texas river.

This dead tree fell into the river creating a mirror image in the water. The river and the land around it is constantly changing. The water dries up during the drought times causing the trees to die then when the big rains come the water washes the trees down the river. Then the process starts all over again.
