20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Family Portrait

Making an image involves a lot of work behind the scenes. choosing a guide and a driver, parking the car, observing the light, and comprehending animal behaviour. Every element is crucial to capturing the ideal moment. The dominant tigress Choti Madhu is grooming her cubs in the shade at the Buffer region of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. We were on our morning safari when we found this family. One of the most spectacular things you can do is watch a tiger mother spend time with her cub. The joy of seeing the tigers interact with one another lasts for hours, providing us the chance to express a variety of stories with our photographs. After all, every photographer hopes to take a picture that tells volumes.
