Family watching the parade during Carnavales
During Carnavales each year, it is customary for a large float to parade down the streets of each small town (with the queen riding on top of it) and for all the people on the street to get soaking wet (from buckets, hoses, water guns, etc). Here a man tails behind the float while a local woman douses him in water - the family in the background stands in front of their pension looking on entertained.
