I took this photo while I was visiting Tibet in October. The Sera monastery was gorgeous and because there weren’t that many people, I was overwhelmed by the tranquility. With gentle breezes and sunlight pouring through the trees, I felt like I was floating. Also at the monastery, we were given great pleasure in being able to witness the famous monk debates. Even though I couldn’t understand what they were saying, watching their distinct way of debate was intriguing on its own. The teacher would be sitting down while the student would stand. The student would come up with a question and then slap his hand. Then, there would be a response given by the teacher and this would go back and forth for several minutes. After a while, the roles would be switched.
